Wonder Lost: RP sim opens today
Received an IM from Genesis Barthelmess of Mad Rose Technicalities announcing that a new role-play sim called, "Wonder Lost" would be opening and that Mad Rose is the featured builder. There is a discount Mad Rose store on the sim, which would be reason enough to visit. I suited up in Zombie Killer version 2 thinking that would be adequate for whatever Mad Rose had to throw at me in a sim called, "Wonder Lost."

Well, "adequate" is a good word for how I felt when I teleported in to another take on the ongoing "Alice Wars" (haha the story of my last year, if you know the joke, but that taxing fruitless battle is all over now.). Mad Rose has been involved in creating excellent role-play around the Alice in Wonderland stories for a long time. If I find out more, I'll post here, or post links if I get them to the larger "Alice Wars" project.
Look at the costumes of the players carefully and you will see why "adequate" is about as good as I could call my own.

teleporting in: the hub |
Greeted at the hub by Erzsebet Mendle, one of the sim designers, who is in costume, I think, as the Red Queen. I could not take my eyes off the shifting tentacles of her dress. I'm glad I didn't see her face at this point in my trip or I might have, like one confronted with Medusa, turned to stone right there.
At the welcome hub, I was told that the sim does not officially open until tomorrow, so I didn't have to worry about an observer tag or anything else at this point. I collected the notecards that explained the sim, the character roles, and the rules but didn't worry about reading them before I went to have a look 'round, under the circumstances.

uh oh. This can't be good. |
After coming into the sim in a padded room with blood on the walls, I decide that maybe I should take a look at the notecards!

looking around |
The sim is based around the idea that it is an asylum, and Alyss Liddell is one of the residents there.

a sea of tea |
After seeing the beauty and the wonder of the builds, I didn't want to experience any more of it out of character. I had decided as I was looking at the character choices, a child would be the best kind of character to play, sort of a zombie-killer little kid character who was coming in to try to save someone.
I was reminded of the old role-play game, Little Fears, as I started to think about my avi.
I want to pull that old game book back out some time and get some ideas.
(Oh, look, it has a wikipedia page!)

More later as I have time to look up info and go back in.

Adventures with Kimmy and Chat
Found a great furniture store, Lok's Low Prim Furniture/127/128/22 by Sera Lok, last night. Lots of freebies, and see the boards in the back of the store (facing the ocean beyond the Neko stuff and the bedroom furni) for a huge collection of the old Arcadia Asylum stuff (see Bettina's old blog entry for more). After gifting everyone who responded in the Doctor Who chat group with a copy of the Doctor Who pinball machine, I stumbled on around the store, my banana daiquiri in hand, until I found a Dumpster with a dive animation and freebie stuff in it too.
I contemplated whether it was worth putting the daiquiri down.
I made the decision to go all in and see what was there.

You can almost see my "in case of emergency, break glass" for waffle backpack in this photo. |

Tramp stamp is fairly visible haha |

Dang! Where's the bottom of this thing? No, not my bottom! |
After getting a few pretty good things, I told Kimmy about it and she came over to give it a shot too. (No, the blood on her wedding gown is from the katana sticking out of her chest, not a gunshot.)

Drunken stumble to the back of the dumpster netted me a dump in the ocean a few minutes after this pic was taken. |

Drying out while Kimmy decides if I'm out of my mind or if she knows I am and it's okay. |
She seemed a bit dubious at first, but being the great adventurer she is
(even given the slow netbook), she soon went heads-down.

Go Kimmy Go!! |
We contemplated doing more but seemed to be finding duplicates after 4 or 5 items.
After getting a bit mucky, Kimmy decided to take the higher ground haha.

Where did I leave that daiquiri? |
I finally joined her on the wall and we spent the rest of the evening talking about all and sundry,
from aquariums and RVs to home life and gardening. I so love this girl.

Daiquiri recovered, life is good. |

Pretty girl, but how much blood! |
Finally Second Life knew that I had to get some sleep so booted me out about 5am my time!!
Thanks Kimmy for the good company and another memorable adventure!!

60 Linden faves: Michigan Shack
Okay, I never get tired of 60 Linden Sundays, even when I have no Linden. Here's a gorgeous dome from Michigan Shack that I got some time ago on that sale. It has both a PG and an XX menu and really pretty lights and effects. Michigan Shack also gives you a free gift every week you buy something from them on the 60 Linden sale.
Yes, that's Kardesh and me again. We can't seem to give each other up, so we'd better work on making it work this time. :)

Well, hello there!
Experiencing a bad break-up, I decided to take some pics of me in SL trying to figure out what to do next. (Yes, Miso, K and I are finished... awww...)
Came here to post them, and I see thanks to Miso's blog, people are actually coming here! Well, I wish I had something more interesting to talk about, and maybe now I will try to since I know people are coming here, haha.
In the meantime, here are my pics of Chatelaine trying to figure out what to do next.
I used Tayren Theas' facelight and facelight hud. All of her outfits come with a free modifiable shape and skin, AO, and most of them come with this cool facelight hud that you can adjust for color, radius, brightness, and position. Her Marketplace shop is Tayren's Fantasy Fashions.
The facelight hud itself is worth an easy 200L.
So maybe the blog can help me focus on all the kwel stuff about SL again.
Thanks for being here.
